It might seem impossible to you now, but working to overcome anxiety on your own is possible, as long as you're willing to stick to it.
Intense amounts of anxiety can be crushing, so much so that you can't figure out what to do or how to get away from it. But anxiety does not have to be a problem that follows you for the rest of your life, and you don't have to take a passive stance and let it control you instead of the other way around. You can overcome anxiety on your own, as long as you really want to.
Overcoming anxiety is about as difficult as it sounds. Everyone has their own degree of anxiety in certain situations, so the more difficult it sounds to you, the more difficult it is going to be. But no matter how hard it gets, you can summon up the courage and the willpower to tackle that problem on your own -- whether you just get anxious once in a while or every day.
The first step for you to overcome anxiety is acknowledging and accepting that your anxiety is based off of your perception of the world around you. How you see things may not be how they really are, and being able to separate reality from your own idea of what it is crucial. Once you can accept that your anxiety is simply your mind blowing things out of proportion, you can make progress.
Acting on what situations really are is much more difficult than accepting them for what they really are. Treating the things that make you anxious like they don't is going to get you a long way. The first few times almost seem impossible, but over time you can feel yourself get more comfortable with the situation. And after a while it is no longer a problem, but a controlled situation that you are able to maintain.
After some time of faking and forcing yourself to think differently, it will all come to you naturally. And only then have you overcome anxiety. And chances are, you won't even remember that you were anxious in the first place.
